BRW May Evening Dinner
Rose Pugliese, Colorado Republican House Minority Leader
The 2025 Legislative Session in Colorado has been tumultuous with a slew of bills being passed through the Democrat-controlled legislature. The Democratic House majority pushed through a slate of controversial bills addressing abortion and gender on a Sunday in early April. “It should alarm every American that Colorado’s majority used a Sunday—a day typically reserved for family and prayer—to force through four of the most extreme bills of session”, said Rose. Republican House Minority leader, Rose Pugliese will join us on May 20th to bring us up-to-date on this year’s session as it comes to an end on May 7th. Elected Minority leader in 2024, she continued to serve as minority leader after her re-election in 2025. In November Rose defeated Democrat Katherine Gayle in District 14 (covering Northern El Paso County and much of Colorado Springs) by almost 61 percent of the vote.
Rose’s father emigrated to America from Italy when he was 18 along with her maternal grandparents. Rose’s parents raised her and her two sisters while operating an Italian restaurant on Long Island.
After earning her JD she opened a law office in Mesa County. In 2008 she went to the party’s headquarters for a yard sign. (She calls herself an accidental politician.) Years later she was elected a Mesa County Commissioner, serving eight years before moving to the Colorado legislature in 2021.
She has two young children and is very involved in their education, volunteering for the PTA and doing pro-bono work, as needed. She has a BA from Villanova University and a JD from St. John’s University.
Please join us for to support Rose in her extraordinary effort’s to represent us in the Legislature and to learn more about how things have been working in our State House.
